On Saturday, we were in search for a king size bed and it so happened that next door we were by a baby furniture store called Bellini. I remembered reading about Bellini in magazines, which should have been my clue to RUN away, but with pregnancy forgetfulness compounded by the lack being able to complete my thoughts, we strolled right in.
Tim eyed on the coolest looking baby stroller. He’d never seen it. It was AWESOME, until we heard the price of $750, which we thought WOW, but without having anything to compare with prior to this visit we had absolutely no clue how ridiculous it all seemed. Our ignorance probably proved us well because if I had a comparison I would probably have ran out screaming and poor Tim following behind me in embarrassment by publicly humiliating him.
When we got home I went online to check babies-r-us and compared cribs and found they usually cost around $100 – 400, which was reasonable compared to the $800 – 1200 cribs we saw. Who wouldn’t want to drive a Mercedes, can one afford it? Yes, if we bank on the fact that pumpkin will go to college on a full scholarship or pumpkin gets hand me down clothing to wear forever.
As for the bed, we haven’t purchased. That is yet another dilemma and another blog.

Here's some advice...Jae and I spent a lot of time thnking about what kind of stroller to get Ellie...color, accesories, it even has a cd headset built in. I think Ellie spent a total of 5 hours in that stroller. We now use it as a "walking" purse....sad. Kids don't like being in strollers and the ones you see at the mall are most likely drugged with Benedryl. Have you even seen their eyes? They look dazed...no joke!
i have to admit i hate strollers...i'm not that great of a auto driver to begin with, i can barely ride a bicycle, so what makes me think i can control a stroller?
we did buy the graco travel system, and it was so cumbersome to get into our car i couldn't wait for spring so we could use our lightweight chicco...i prefer to wear cadence in a babywrap and use the stroller as a carry-all...that way, if i get tired of wearing her, i can put her in the stroller, but she's generally happier if i wear her...i shopped for over an hour at target on saturday while wearing her so i didn't have to put her in the yucky shopping cart, and she cooed and sang the whole time...
btw i have a baby bjorn i don't use if you want it...only used it a few times...i also have a native carrier sling sized medium(the one cindy crawford promotes) that i never used cuz i didn't fit into it (damn boobs!) and you're welcome to either or both...
Probably under the influence of my unbalanced hormones, I had bought the "Inglesina" stroller only to feel like Mary Poppins http://www.dreamtimebaby.com/clascarwitba.html
Terrible to move around and to carry upstairs and too big for cars, buses, metros. Still, we used it both as stroller and as bed for his first six months. And you can go to friends' places at night and don't feel guilty the baby is not in his/her bed. If you want to buy a second-hand Inglesina....
